Leo started learning to work staves and create selfbows, beginning in the mid 1990's. He has learned from and worked with some of the best-Gary Davis, Ike Swan, Dean Torges, Gary Ellis, Norm Blaker and many others. He also makes Flemish-twist bowstrings (learned from the rope man himself, Dale LaPointe). In addition, Leo will make the whole package including traditional arrows, hand worked leather quivers and arm guards. He can make a very flexibly designed portable stave-horse so you can do yur own after taking some lessons in bow-making from Leo. Leo has demonstrated t many gatherings, festivals and Pow Wows in lower Michigan.
